Wrapping up!
Friday morning we woke up to a very slow moving storm that ate up most of our morning....the kids hung out watching PBS in GraGra and Papa's room and put GraGra to sleep. Thankfully around noon the weather cleared and we beat feet for the beach.
It was pretty empty!
We wrote our names in the sand...to ensure that we'd be back! That one is Colin...really.
And Gillian.
And Daddy's last hole of the week. I think he had grand plans.
Cool Bean.
Dragon squirter!
Daddy's masterpiece! I think it looks like a prison...
Finishing up our last day on the beach!
The kiddos took ANOTHER great nap (seriously, they slept every afternoon for at least 2 hours! Wish I could get that at home!) and then convinced Daddy to watch a movie with them. Daddy didn't last long.
I swear I had a picture of Daddy asleep...he really was out like a light!
Then we got all spiffed up for dinner out. Colin included his shades.
We had a delicious dinner at a place that was new to us. We decided on it because we could get a reservation! Not many places at the beach take reservations and we didn't want to wait an hour! So, we got our table, the place wasn't super full, but we still waited and waited for dinner. And despite his bread, Colin wasn't taking it super well. He kept asking and asking when his chicken fingers are COMING! Finally, out of desperation he spurts out, "It's JUST CRUNCH and FLUFF! That's it! They should BE HERE!" We all laughed, because, really, restaurant chicken fingers are just a crunch part and a fluff part! Funny boy!
After dinner, the kids used their last tickets on rides, Daddy bought me a pretty sea glass necklace souvenir, and we had our last ice cream at the Royal Treat (try the chocolate moose tracks!).
In the morning we were up, packed, and out of the house by 7:10! We stopped for breakfast in town and hit the road. We had a smooth, fast, and easy trip home in record time! Phew!
Fantastic week. We all had so much fun. And can't wait to get back!

Beach Vacation 2012: Part 3
Another day, another hole!
Snacking, playing, building.
Peach on the beach!
Fancy structure by Daddy!
Decorated by kiddos!
Hanging with Papa!
That afternoon, Daddy and I got OUT on our own for a date! An anniversary date! YAY! First up, we went on a tour of one of Daddy's favorite microbreweries, Dogfish Head Brewery.
They have a huge treehouse statue in their front lawn. They bought it from someone at Burning Man for $1. And shipped it to Delaware for $30,000. A steal right?
It was a nice tour. Very informative. With free samples. Which were totally wasted on me. After our tour we had a great dinner and drinks, cruised around downtown Rehoboth on our own, and snagged some ice cream. Perfect anniversary date. And big thanks to GraGra and Papa for being on kid-duty!
Thursday was our other really nice day of the week, weather-wise. Hot, sunny, and perfect for the beach. It was so nice that Daddy and I ran back to the house, grabbed some lunch, and brought it back to the beach so the kids could hang out longer and enjoy themselves!
Mommy's turn to build the castle that day!
Crab house!
Having some fun with Zach!
Lunch break!
After a good nap, the kids KNEW what they wanted to do. RIDE. Yep, they needed to hit the boardwalk FunLand for some RIDES. They had to put up with parking, walking, and Mommy's picture request first...
Colin refused to join us in this picture.....he need to RIDE.
Oh the ball pit. Their favorite. Eww.
Oh, this ferris wheel! Grrrrr. It took them 20 minutes to get LOADED on the thing. Never again.
They did have fun though....
