Gymnastics Update

Colin finished his first session of gymnastics in November. To celebrate the occasion, his teacher invited siblings and parents into the gym for class.  Gillian got to do all the things Colin does every week and she LOVED it.

At the end of class, the teachers had a little ceremony and all the kids got a little certificate and ribbon.

We are nearly at the end of the next session of gymnastics and Colin is still loving it! He has made such nice progress in coordination and balance. I love seeing his new moves every week!

Wrapping Up the Birthday

The weekend after the kids' birthday we had Grammy, Papa Frank, Uncle D, Aunt Cedes, Dickiedoo, and Noonie for lunch.  The kids had a great time showing off their pumpkins, opening presents, and playing with their family.

Hunting and Carving Pumpkins

The Saturday after the kiddos' birthday we took our annual trek to Trax to pick some pumpkins. The kids always enjoy climbing the pumpkin piles and the other (expensive) activities!  It was a bit nippy this year when we went, but we soldiered on!

Later that day we attempted to carve our pumpkins. ATTEMPTED. We broke two or three pumpkin carvers and a paring knife. Next year we will not get warty pumpkins. Daddy did us good in the end though!

TIMBER!!!!

We had a tree taken down in the back yard this fall. It was an ash tree and it had been attacked by ash borer beetles and was very dead. We were afraid it would fall when someone was out in the yard, so down it came. We had a friend who was willing to come get the lumber, so we just had the service chunk up the wood and leave it. That provided a ton of entertainment for C&G!

Big Duck.

Oh wait, before it turned into October, we squeezed in one last September adventure!  We went to see the BIG DUCK!!!  Pittsburgh was honored to host a giant, inflatable duck for three weeks this fall.  It was art.  It made people smile.  And then it left.

We took the train.

We walked up and out and through a million people running in The Great Race and TA DA!!!  THE DUCK!

We took the opportunity to check out the newly refurbished Point State Park and fountain (which has been under construction since the kids were born, I think).  The kids actually enjoyed the fountain more than the duck.
