Dino Digging

So, eons ago, on a rainy Sunday afternoon, we dug some dinosaurs in our dining room.  Really, I think it was two weeks ago.  But who can remember.   Anyway, it was a rainy, at home kind of day and we were a bit bored, so I pulled out this kit I had gotten at a book party.  It was a chisel, a hammer, a brush, goggles, and a plastic stegosaurus skeleton in plaster.  And we DUG away.

We were INTENSE diggers.

It took about 45 minutes and we got all the bones out.  Daddy helpfully assembled the skeleton for us.  And TA DA!

We call him "Ghost of John."

And a Half.

Last week C&G had a big.exciting.day. It was their HALF birthday. They felt turning four AND A HALF was very important. They told everyone we met all about it. We didn't really do anything special for the day, other than talk about it and meet Daddy for lunch. Well, and I took some pictures.

The Big Four AND A HALF year olds:

It was supposed to be a rainy morning, so we went off to See Saw to play. Plus, this was See Saw's last week open for this season, so we wanted to be sure to see Miss Thelma again before October!

G spent a lot of time hiding under the slide...I think she was playing a game with some boys. I think.

And that Miss Thelma is too nice. She got out the Happy Birthday stamp for the kids. She told them she'd only give them half...but she didn't. They got the whole thing.

Then we were off to lunch with Daddy. Good old Mr. Hoagie. And it's all down hill to FIVE from here!

Spring Sing!

The kids' school held their annual 3 Year Old Spring Sing last week! They have been practicing for weeks and talking ALL about it. Colin came home from school and recited Miss Lanna's instructions to me on Tuesday: Drop us off in the room, go get a seat in the sanctuary, we will take the secret back way to the gym for ice cream. Oh, and Miss Lanna said to pee before we come ;) Ha.

Colin's room was asked to wear orange and Gillian's room was asked to wear yellow. G doesn't own much yellow...it's not so flattering on a blond. But, she had a cute dress with some yellow in it, so we were good. We took a few quick pictures before we left.

Colin is an a very odd phase and is taking some pretty horrible pictures...

Gillian is a bit more practiced at posing.

So, we followed all of Miss Lanna's instructions and Daddy and I found ourselves awaiting our little singers!

The whole Crew.

They sang 6 or 7 songs. And C and G both did well, singing and doing the motions! So proud!

Look, they both ended up eating their clothes...

After the singing we had ice cream. That was Colin's favorite part. And pretty much the whole point of the evening, in his mind.

And Miss Lanna was kind enough to take a picture of all of us!

A very nice evening of music and FUN! And ice cream.

Weekend Amusement

Continuing the house improvement kick, we mulched this weekend. Turns out that is more fun for kids than painting. Good to know! Plus, Colin could ride his ride-on firetruck (from their first birthday) down the driveway 6,000 times. Gillian enjoyed it as well!

Bitty Ballerina

Gillian had pictures for dance class last week. She looked ADORABLE. And she was happy as a clam to wear her fancy costume!

Discovering Baby Showers

Last weekend I took the kids up north for Rachel's baby shower. They were quite excited even though they had never been to a baby shower. But, they KNOW parties, I suppose. Thankfully Great Aunt Sue always throws a kid friendly party, so there was much fun to be had.

Oh yeah, and Millennium Falcons.

Papa Greg stopped by to get a Colin fix. He didn't stay to party though.

Grammy brought some Elephant and Piggie masks that quickly turned into balloon paddles. What else?

ICE CREAM. Right up Colin's alley.

And Gillian's cookie alley too.

And YAY! It's Amy and Logan! We haven't seen them forever!! What a sweet, happy boy!

It was a very nice shower! It was fun to celebrate Rachel and Baby To Be Named Later! We can't wait to meet him or her! C&G hope the baby comes with more balloons.
