Playdate!

We met up with our friends Miss Beth, Natalie, and Jackson a week or so ago for a great morning of sunshine and play. We don't get to see these guys often, but the kids play very well together when we do! The girls especially seemed to have a lot of fun together this time!

Gillian has been super focused on doing the monkey bars by herself this summer. Only one or two of the playgrounds we visit even HAVE monkey bars. But she practices when she can! Just the week before this playdate she had completed the BIG monkey bars all by herself! Here she is "teaching" Natalie how to do it.

We love seeing these guys! Unfortunately Natalie is in preschool the opposite days as C&G this year. But, we'll find the time to get together!

Far Away Mall

A few weeks ago we met my good friend Beth and her kiddos, Natalie and Jackson, at the mall for a fun morning on a wet day. This isn't the mall that is right down the road from us; it's the mall about 35 minutes away and halfway between us and Beth! Colin has deemed it "Far Away Mall." Good enough.

So the kids ran and played and then we rode escalators and elevators and had Happy Meals. Fun for all. Especially since Beth and I got to sit and catch up a bit! Colin even ran the camera for me! These are all his work:

Huh. One of the girls must have taken this one!

We have really enjoyed meeting up with Beth and her kids a few times this winter. I think we're going to try to make a monthly thing.

Catching Up with Old Friends

Last Thursday Colin had a recheck with his dermatologist WAY up north. Can I just say that the Pittsburgh area needs more than ONE pediatric dermatologist; it's really kind of ridiculous. Anyway, we always grab the earliest appointment that we can, so that we don't waste an entire day. This time it was especially nice because we made plans to meet up with my old friend, Miss Beth, and her two little cuties.

We lucked into a very pretty day; our first dry day in a long, long while, so we met up at a playground and let the kiddos run wild! Beth's little girl, Natalie, is about 3 1/2 and was very interested in trying to get C&G to play with her. And, in true 2 year old style, Colin and Gillian really didn't notice. I think Gillian and Natalie ended up playing in the sandbox together for a while, though. I spent most of my morning getting to know Jackson, Miss Beth's 5 month old little guy, who I hadn't met yet (so glad we could remedy that)! He is just the sweetest, happiest little guy and I snuggled him up!

When I tried to get a picture of all the kiddos, things got crazy. My two just said NO and ran away. Jackson was sleeping. So, I got the beautiful Miss Natalie all by herself!

I miss seeing my Miss Beth all the time (we used to work together, pre-kids) and it was nice to (try to) catch up a bit! Hope we get to do more of it this summer!

Fun with Friends

Since I've been off work for three weeks now, the kiddos and I have been having lots of fun and adventures. Last week we met my friend Beth and her little girl, Natalie, at Clever Road Park in Robinson Township. Beth and I work for the same company and she's also a speech therapist. We used to work in the same school. We saw each other 3 or 4 days a week for YEARS, then we had kids. Now we NEVER see each other. I miss her lots, so I was so happy that we could meet up. Natalie is almost exactly a year older than C&G, so she could show them some fun tricks!

Up we all go!

Despite having three busy younglings to keep an eye on, Beth and I did get to visit some. And best of all, Natalie shared with us that she is going to be a BIG SISTER in December! Yay! We hope to play together again this summer sometime!
