Cereal Might Be OK, maybe

We started trying rice cereal, then oatmeal, when the babies were 4 months old. It has taken us a while, but they have decided that, maybe, it is ok. After we have their 6 month appointment in April, we'll start vegies, then fruit. Can't wait to see that mess!!

Colin got the spoon from me! He obviously has no clue what to do with it!

Isn't he just the handsomest Little Man??

This is a quintessential Colin gesture. He loves looking at those hands!

Even the Cupcake was Sad...

I love this picture:

Gillian looks like she is the saddest Bean in the entire world. She was tired and ready for bed, but she was also cute as a button.

Playing with Mommy

Gillian and I had some fun playing on the floor yesterday.

What a princess!!

It doesn't really look like Colin is playing with me, but we were! He was getting tired though. He is looking especially handsome in his letterman sweater from the Maloneys!

Colin and Grammy Ynn

Grammy Ynn loves her C-man. I'm not sure why he looks so sad. I think he's was watching Mommy play with Gillian.

Bean Mohawk

Bean had an awesome mohawk going on today. I totally wasn't able to do it justice in photos:

Very First Trip to the Park

The walk in the park blog entry made me think about Colin and Gillian's very first trip to the park back in April of 2008:

Our first walk in the Park

Since the weather was so beautiful last weekend, we took the babies to the park for a walk. They seemed to enjoy it. I know I did! I've been pretty much trapped in my house since last July, so every chance to get out is a JOY to me. Grammy Lynn, Grandpa Frank, Uncle D, and Aunt Mercedes had stopped by and joined us.

We're Movin' Now! (alternately titled "Obean-Wan Kenobean")

Gillian has rolled over!!! She has been really, really close for a few weeks now, but no luck. Until yesterday! I went in at 5:30 to check on her and she was on her belly! I flipped her over and she IMMEDIATELY flipped back on to her belly. Pretty impressive. She has rolled a few more times since, but only when everyone is out of the room. Very suspicious. Anyway, here's a picture of her wearing her fleece sleep sack that Mary Mazzoni made. She is just about the cutest thing ever in it. Daddy calls it her Sack of Cuteness. I think she looks like a Jedi-in-Training.

Mr. Cool

Colin has a couple nice Penn State onesies, but alas they're short sleeved. This time of year, he really probably should have long sleeves on. As a result, he has to wear a long sleeved onesie underneath his PSU outfits. See example below:

Apparently, wearing your long sleeve shirt under your short sleeve shirt under your long sleeve shirt is pretty cool:

Random Bean Cute-ness

Gillie-bean looking super cute. This is Michael's favorite outfit right now. Thanks Sarah for lending it to us!

The Twins Get Baptized!

We took little C&G to Beechwoods to get baptized at the church that my family attends, and that I grew up in. Michael and I agree that it was a wonderful day. Reverends Emily and Dave Koehler are the ministers at the church, and they had such a wonderful service. Everything was so personalized for the babies, and the entire congregation was so happy to see them and celebrate with us! Rev. Emily's sermon was about God's promises to all of us, and especially to Gillian and Colin. It was very moving; even Rev. Emily was teary! The babies were so well behaved, and even slept through most of the actual "getting wet" part! We had a lovely lunch afterward to celebrate with about 40 of our closest friends and family! Some pictures from the day:

Although it's not the highest-quality photo in the world, I love this picture! These are all four of my grandparents (paternal on the left, maternal on the right). I am so very blessed to have all 4 of my grandparents and I feel so lucky to have a picture of them with Colin and Gillian.

Sadly, Michael's grandmother wasn't feeling well enough to join us. It was the one damper on the day.

Grandma Dot with Colin. She has been sick the other times we visited with the twins, so this is the first time she got to hold them. The funniest part was, whenever they would fuss the littlest bit, she would hand them back! I suppose the Grandma's Prerogative extends even further when you are Great-Grandma!

Samantha with Gillian. Samantha does not give up babies unless forced to! We are hoping that Gillian is just as nice a girl when she grows up as Samantha is.

A close up of Colin's handsomeness. He is wearing the sweater that Michael and Uncle David wore for their baptisms, and he is also wearing RED SOCKS in honor of Grandpa Lee, who wears red socks for all special occasions.

Our new chair

So, I've always been a bit suspect of the Bumbo chair. It just doesn't look comfy, or developmentally appropriate. However, lately Colin wants to sit all the time, but obviously he can't do it himself. So, I broke down and got a Bumbo (I know, not the last time as a parent that I'll reverse my course). He seems to like it!
