August is SMA Awareness Month

I have a beautiful, online friend, Molly, who has a blog that you have to read. Last October, Molly gave birth to amazing Baby June. Shortly after birth, June was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy and passed away when she was only weeks old. Molly is amazing in her strength and tireless in her advocacy for SMA research and awareness. Please read her story and keep their family in your prayers.

Really? I have a 17 year old nephew named Austin who has type 2 SMA and I've never known there was an SMA awareness month! I'll check out your friend's story. SMA has certainly been a learning experience for my whole extended family. We're so thankful and excited that Austin is getting ready to start his senior year!

Her strength is so amazing! I cried and cried just reading the story and looking at all the pictures. I don't think I would be able to handle something like that with as much grace and faith as she has. She is an amazing woman and they are a beautiful family. Thank you for sharing this.

THANK YOU for posting this!! I can't even begin to express to you how much this means to me! THANK YOU!!! And THANK YOU to your friends who visited my blog and read my sweet June's story. You will never know what it does to a Mama's heart to know that her baby is being remembered and honored after her life here on earth has ended. As we approach her first birthday and her first angel anniversary it's posts like these that ease the pain of my grieving heart. THANK YOU.
