Princess Party on the Moon

Camera Roll-248

Yesterday the kids wanted to build sandcastles in our sandbox. And then Colin decided to make water towers. So, we ended up with two princess castles and two water towers. Castles in the rear, towers in the front.

Gillian told us there were three princesses in the two castles, which sounded like trouble to me. Then Colin discovered an old nerf rocket thing and turned it into "blast off rocket to the moon." He kept telling us that the princesses were on the rockets and they were going to a party on the moon. Too funny. BUT, Gillian was not pleased. She kept telling him that the princesses DID NOT want to go to the moon. It was too scary. She probably got that idea from me since I always tell Colin that I'd rather not go to the moon with him in his rocket because I don't like space. Anyway, we settled things by them each getting their "own" set of pretend princesses. Some to rocket and some to stay in the castles. Oh boy.

Once Upon A Time.....

It was nice enough to poke our heads outside of our winter abode for a few days last week. We hit the playground and the park once or twice. We even broke out the sandbox for the first time this year!

The doggy next door even came out to say HI! Colin spotted him.

We took our (now way too small for us) ride on toys out too!

Sadly, it's been 30 degrees since then. And it's currently snowing. March going out like a lamb my FOOT.

I (w)on(e) the Sandbox...

The Kids love the outside... they love the it! This gave Lea the idea that they needed to have a sandbox. So on Saturday we drove down to the local K-Mart where Lea had it on good authority that they had Turtle sandboxes for rock-bottom prices. After searching around the inside of the store, we finally managed to locate some turtles outside in the garden department. After picking up a turtle and a mini-picnic table (and some flowers), we headed home for a nap. Well, the kids took a nap, and I went to work, but to each their own.

After work, a nap, and dinner, we went to Lowes and bought our sand. By the way, Colin LOVED Lowes too. The reason: THEY HAVE A WHOLE SECTION DEDICATED TO CEILING FANS! He was in Heaven! Despite the fact that the natives were starting to get restless we headed over to Rita's for some ice and ice cream.

The next day, after the kids' afternoon nap, we went out and used the sandbox for the first time. It was a hit:

I took the liberty of procuring some miniature excavation equipment for the kids when we were out at Wal-Mart earlier in the day...

Colin thought it was great:

While Bean thought it was fun, she did need to take a break and mow the lawn with bubbles:
