Wrapping Up the Birthday

The weekend after the kids' birthday we had Grammy, Papa Frank, Uncle D, Aunt Cedes, Dickiedoo, and Noonie for lunch.  The kids had a great time showing off their pumpkins, opening presents, and playing with their family.

We had a very fun day!  I think we celebrated five correctly!

FIVE! OFFICIALLY!

Colin and Gillian's fifth birthday was on a Thursday.  So, no school and we were free to do what we wanted!  We decided to go play at See Saw in the morning and meet Daddy at Mr. Hoagie for the traditional lunch with Daddy.  And breakfast for supper.  We did it up right!

I made them sit for some pictures.  There was goofiness, of course.

Friend Birthday Party!

So, apparently we have 5 year olds now. I'm not sure how it happened. But it did. AND IT IS AWESOME. I love five. It is a great age.

The kids had a gymnastics party for their friends the Sunday before their birthday. We had the party at the gym where both kids went to camp last summer and where Colin takes classes every week. It was such an easy party from a parent perspective. All I did was fill in the invitation that they gave me, take drinks, cake, and chips, and pay. PERFECT.

Birthday Photo Shoot

Every year I like to drag all four of us somewhere scenic and have Daddy take pictures for the kids' birthday. Then I end up using the pictures on our Christmas cards. Works out nicely. This year we tromped over to the Gilfillan Farm to get our pictures! Colin was not pleased with having to wear a "fancy" shirt, but he did enjoy the BIG logs. And Gillian was (surprisingly) pleasant and agreeable. I am SO happy with the pictures. Daddy does such a great job and his rates are really reasonable!

I'm going to put up just a few of the MANY that Daddy took.
