Annual Family New Years Picture!

We usually do this on New Year's Day, but the whole Sunday/no Bowl Games thing threw us for a loop! So, anyway, here is our annual New Year's Day Family Photo taken on January 2nd! I like this tradition and hope to continue for as long as possible!

Gillian was positioned behind us because she refused to put on PANTS. Very representative of current life, I suppose, but I thought inappropriate for an actual portrait!

I always swear to people that my kids were very, very tough between 15 and 18 months. Now I have the pictures to prove it!

Our Annual New Year's Day Family Photo

It seems we are building an Uhl Family Tradition of New Year's Day family photos. That will work for me. We are just too busy on Christmas or Thanksgiving to grab them, and New Year's Day is much quieter and slower for us. We got one in 2009 and (kinda sorta) got one in 2010.

Well, here's the 2011 version!


I love Gillian's crazy post-nap hair and Colin clutching Thomas. I want it known that we had a series of these taken in the morning, with combed hair and no Thomas, but someone who will not be named (ahem....DADDY!) thought he looked goony, so we needed a retake.

Grandma RoRo and Grandpa Greg were kind enough to come down and watch C&G so that Lea and I could go out for New Year's Eve. We had made plans with friends to go downtown for Pittsburgh's First Night celebration. Alas, we made it downtown a little late to see many of the events/activities. We did however listen to a swing band for a while, watch a glass blowing demonstration, and catch the last half of a performance from "Good Night, States".

We then went down to the main stage to wait for midnight and fireworks...
